Kaley Cuoco‘s true crime obsession will come back to bite her — again — this fall. Season 2 of Cuoco and Chris Messina‘s Peacock comedy Based on a True Story will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 21, TVLine has learned.
The eight-episode second season picks up with Cuoco and Messina’s characters, Ava and Nathan Bartlett, three months deep into parenthood. Ava returns to work as a real estate agent, while Nathan is thriving as a private tennis coach.
But the good times don’t last for long, as a new string of murders sucks Ava back into her old obsession. She even begins to suspect that Season 1 baddie Matt (played by Tom Bateman) is the killer in question. Ava does her best not to jump to conclusions “until danger comes knocking, literally,” according to Peacock.
Based on a True Story also stars Liana Liberato as Tory, featuring Melissa Fumero as Ava’s new friend Drew. Cuoco and Messina also executive-produce, alongside new showrunner Annie Weisman, Jaclyn Moore, Alex Buono, Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Craig Rosenberg.
