“Gushing with Excitement: Gal Gadot Embraces her Villainous Role as the Evil Queen in Disney’s Live-Action Snow White”

At the recent D23 Expo held at the Anaheim Convention Center, Gal Gadot shared her excitement about taking on the role of the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White movie. Known for her role as Wonder Woman, the 37-year-old actress admitted that playing a villain is a new and exciting challenge for her. Rachel Zegler, who stars as the beloved Disney princess, also expressed her gratitude and excitement at being part of such an iconic film.


Expressing her thoughts openly, Gal Gadot discussed her experience playing the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White at the D23 Expo held in the Anaheim Convention Center. In an interview with Deadline, Gadot mentioned that this role was unlike anything she had done before and that she is accustomed to portraying characters on the opposite spectrum of goodness. Although she usually takes on heroic roles, Gadot shared that she found it refreshing to embody the iconic villain. She expressed her enjoyment of delving into the character’s psyche, clarifying that the Evil Queen’s persona is a far cry from her own in real life.


In a recent interview, the 37-year-old actress from Wonder Woman discussed her experience working on the much-awaited film and how she found it challenging to play a villain, specifically The Evil Queen in Snow White (1937).

Gadot explained to Deadline that the role she was portraying was unlike anything she had done previously, stating that she was more accustomed to playing characters who had their emotions guarded.


Gadot expressed her excitement at playing a different role than her usual heroines, calling it a ‘pleasant’ change to embody the ‘legendary villain.’ Zegler, 21, also shared her thoughts on taking on the role of Snow White in the new version of the classic 1937 animated movie. The West Side Story actress described her character’s journey as a quest for ’empowerment to become a fair and admirable queen.’ She shared that updating the film for a contemporary audience was a ‘privileged opportunity.’ The live-action Snow White project began in 2016 and Marc Webb signed on to direct three years later.


Snow White has been accompanied by the talented actress Rachel Zegler, who expressed her gratitude at the opportunity to portray the beloved Disney princess in the upcoming film. Gal Gadot and Zegler were revealed as the movie’s main stars back in June of last year. Greta Gerwig also joined the team in November to help co-write the screenplay. The cast further includes Andrew Burnap and Martin Klebba, who will be taking on the role of Grumpy in the production.
