‘Anything is possible,’ says Gadot, crediting her four daughters with inspiring ‘me to be a better person,’ as small pro- and anti-Israel protests staged outside ceremony

Gal Gadot received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, becoming the first Israeli actor to be awarded the honor.

Speaking at the ceremony, Gadot referred several times to her Israeli roots, even speaking some Hebrew.

“I’m just a girl from a town in Israel,” Gadot said, drawing loud cheers from her supporters in the audience. “To all the young people, especially the young girls, if a girl from Rosh Ha’ayin can get a star on Hollywood Boulevard, anything is possible.”

Gadot also addressed her Israeli family in Hebrew, saying that she loves them, even though they are far away.

The actress, best known for playing “Wonder Woman,” was accompanied by her husband Jaron Varsano, whom she called “my rock, my compass, my firefighter,” and their four daughters — Alma, 13, Maya, 8, Daniella, 3 and Ori, 13 months. “Whenever my success grew, I always got pregnant,” she joked. “I needed to ground myself.”

Speaking to her daughters, Gadot said: “Being your Imma [Hebrew for mother] is the greatest privilege of anything I have ever done. You inspire me to be a better person, to be strong and brave and kind as you are.”

Filming for The Runner starring Gal Gadot was disrupted AGAIN by pro-Palestinian protesters shouting "stop genocide". The new Amazon thriller started filming in the UK two weeks ago. On May 10, 2025, at midday, production for the film starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot was paused as pro-Palestinian protestors swarmed Moorgate Station, London. A passerby said it seemed like Gal Gadot was being sheltered somewhere while the protesters chanted "stop genocide". This is the second time filming for The Runner has been paused because of protestors. Last week, the crew were filming in Central London when protestors descended onto the scene. A passerby, who filmed the footage, said: "Some of the crew seemed quite resigned to the fact that the protestors were there. "They were all set up, ready to go, when about 10-15 protesters stopped the filming. "The protestors had flags, banners, sirens and were shouting stop genocide."

Picture this: a show wraps up an incredible first season. Fans and critics agree it was excellent. The show is nominated for awards. People are talking about it. The ending was satisfying. People are pleased. Then, the studio decided that, because it's so popular, they might as well make more seasons. Fans watch the second season. It doesn't live up to the hype of the first season. Audiences and critics are let down.

This scenario has played out all too often, especially in recent years. Shows that are meant to have a shelf life are extended solely to keep potential profits up. People appreciate story, and rarely does an additional season that wasn't planned turn out great. The reason that the first season is so much better is typically because the series was adapted from some form of source material. It covers that in the initial slate of episodes, and the story has finality.

It's hard to argue against a studio wanting to throw a bunch of money at you to continue making your show if you're a creator. It's also flattering that people love the show. But sometimes, for the integrity of the content, it's better to let it rest. Here are 10 shows that had no business churning out more episodes after a brilliant debut season.
